Web Foundation · May 3, 2017

On May 23 the Web Foundation will launch the 4th edition of the Open Data Barometer (ODB). The Barometer is a global measure of how governments are publishing and using open data for accountability, innovation and social impact.

This latest edition covers 115 countries, ranking them on:

  • Readiness: the legal and regulatory environment for opening up government data
  • Implementation: the number and types of datasets that are open
  • Impact: the extent to which open data is having a positive impact on business, politics and civil society

The 4th edition of the Barometer will be available at, where you can currently find last year’s Open Data Barometer.
