The Web’s 31st birthday — Social kit
On the web’s birthday, Thursday, March 12, web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee will publish an open letter warning that a growing crisis of online abuse and discrimination against women and girls is threatening global progress on gender equality. Please join us to share messages on social media about the urgent need to tackle these threats and make the web work for women and girls everywhere.

But right now, the web is not working for women and girls. Billions can’t connect — women are far less likely than men to be online. And for many who are online, the web simply isn’t safe — 52% of young women and girls have experienced online abuse.
That’s why we’re adding our voice alongside thousands of others to call for action to end the crisis of online abuse and discrimination.
The web we want is safe and empowering for everyone.
But with a growing crisis of online abuse and discrimination against women and girls, that’s not the web we have.
