The Web Foundation is delighted to welcome Craig Fagan to our team. He joins us in the newly-created role of Policy Director and will be leading the Foundation’s policy work across our digital equality and citizen participation programmes. Craig brings a wealth of expertise in governance, transparency, development and using technology for social change.
He most recently served as Head of Global Policy for Transparency International, the international anti-corruption organisation, a position he held for the last nine years. Based at the International Secretariat in Berlin, Craig led TI’s engagement and advocacy in the run-up to the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Prior to his time at TI, Craig worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) where he advised countries on anti-poverty and Millennium Development Goal-based initiatives. He has also previously worked as a consultant for the World Bank on human development research.
Craig sat on the steering committee of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) and was a member of the Beyond2015 Executive Committee.
His career has seen him live and work in the US, Germany and Latin America. He speaks Spanish, German and Portuguese.
We are excited about the contribution Craig will make to our team, and can’t wait to get started working together!
