Mark your calendars! Our Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI) initiative will be releasing the 2015/16 edition of our annual Affordability Report on Monday, 22 February.
The Affordability Report takes a look at the state of affordability across 51 developing and emerging countries, with a focus on how policy and regulation are working to reduce broadband prices and enable wider access. This year, our analysis is centred around a key question: What will it take to achieve the UN’s new global goal of affordable, universal access to the Internet for everyone by 2020? Will our current trajectory allow us to connect the over four billion people still offline and to reach this target? We take an in-depth look at how income and gender inequalities are skewing the affordability picture, and reveal what it will take to overcome these barriers to access and close the digital divide.
For updates, follow A4AI on Twitter @a4a_internet. You can also sign up here to be emailed the report when it’s released.
