It has just been announced that CITIZENFOUR, by film-maker Laura Poitras, has won best documentary feature at the 2015 Academy Awards.
We’d like to send our congratulations to Laura and the whole CITIZENFOUR team. This courageous film has ensured that bulk surveillance and online privacy is being hotly debated in bedrooms, bars and boardrooms across the globe. No doubt this win will give the discussion extra impetus…but we must ensure that it does not remain just a discussion. We call on you to play your part – join our Web We Want campaign and ensure that the Web remains a free, open and neutral space for generations to come.

I don't think this Foundation understand for a bit the difference between the Web and Internet in general.Citizenfour is about government spying shamelessly on people using, for one part the Internet to do so.The Web have virtually nothing to do with this but I guess it's always a good way to benefit from a great movie/documentary momentum to drag people into your creepy projects that aren't advancing anything.
