We have just published our report on the W3C/Web Foundation Workshop on Mobile and Web Technologies in Social and Economic Development, which we organised in Dar es Salaam last June.
The workshop saw a large and diverse group of participants, coming from more than 30 different countries, engage in discussions on topics such as voice-based services for underprivileged communities, mobile-technology entrepreneurship and data collection tools. The outcomes of those discussions, as well as the actions identified will now be studied and will doubtless inspire our work.
We would like to thank again the participants, and especially the organisations that sponsored the workshop: Spider (Gold Sponsor), Twaweza (Gold Sponsor) and Comviva (silver sponsor).
Max.
