Web Foundation · October 7, 2014

The World Wide Web Foundation is proud to serve as the Secretariat as the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), which celebrates its first birthday today. In 12 short months, A4AI has:

  • Signed agreements to work directly with four countries, meaning the Alliance is already working to help deliver affordable broadband to over 200m people.
  • More than doubled the number of Alliance members, to over 65, spanning the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.
  • Undertaken an extensive research, advocacy and outreach programme, helping to put affordability challenges and solutions top of mind for policymakers and influencers around the globe.

You can find out more about A4AI’s first year over at www.a4ai.org, where there’s a celebratory blog post and an infographic summarising the year’s progress.

Happy birthday A4AI!
