Based in London, Leila has experience in corporate communications, gender, and international politics. At the Web Foundation, Leila will be working on our Women’s Rights Online Program as well as supporting core communications.
Prior to joining the Web Foundation, Leila worked at the Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women’s Organisation on digital communications and policy, including advocating for justice for the victims of Yazidi genocide and kidnapping of women by ISIS. She also worked as a communications assistant in the private sector, writing on renewable energy and corporate affairs.
Leila graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Warwick in 2015. She speaks English and Portuguese fluently as well as some Italian and Spanish.
