Erica Mesker serves as the Director of Development at the World Wide Web Foundation. Erica leads our fundraising and partnership development strategy aimed at securing and strengthening the Web Foundation’s long term financial future as we fight for a safe and empowering web for everyone. She is a member of the leadership team, helping to shape the organisation’s wider strategy.
Erica is an experienced strategic development and fundraising leader. For the past six years, she was a core member of the development team at TechSoup, most recently serving as the Director of Global Strategic Development. There she focused on fundraising for programs that support civil society organisations undergoing digital transformation and on initiatives to help NGOs combat misinformation and disinformation. She also fundraised for technologies dedicated to social good with partners around the world. Erica is passionate about increasing access to education and information as a route to economic empowerment. That’s what drove her work fundraising for student scholarships at Santa Barbara City College. Erica holds an M.A. in Global and International Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and studied psychology and biology as part of her undergraduate degree at San Diego State University.
